my parents were very selective when it comes to children´s books, cassettes and other materials... but since we´re such a big famly we have whole shelves full of that stuff leftover....one of the most awesome books was "der kleine wassermann".. a little fella living in a pond with his friend, the carp cyprinus, and his parents, who are water-gnomes like himself...sometimes he leaves the pond for a while to meet with human villagers, but always soon returns to his natural habitat...
who would have thought that this incredibly endearing character was invented by a man who sat in the german parliament for all this time (Norbert Bluem) and we didnt even know he was the same man as Ottfried Preussler ?
Norbert Bluem is not a tall man, always looked a bit forelorn and lonely among the other representatives, looking over the rims of his trademark reading-glasses...
this is another catch i made by pure coincidence... but they are identical....Norbert Blüm like all other politicians, is older than it appears...
same nose, same eyes, same sensitive soul... same man...he also wrote the books to the lately-turned-into-a-movie story of "Krabat"....where (how could it be any diffrent) a "good sorcerer", learns how to fight the eeeevil of "black magic" with his incredible magical skillz...
