more middleage characters identified

slowly and slowly the whole picture of the middle ages is taking shape...as i find more and more separate characters, but dont have so much material as of yet, i´m gonna make another composite thread... the video above is about "Hildegard von Bingen" a famous medieval figure of the time when worms, mainz, augsburg were powerful cities and the mighty cathedrals were build in all of europe...Hildegard was supposedly a simple german girl from a humble background (i dont know about you but whenever i hear this wornout phrase now i can´t but chuckle...) who later became one of the greatest singers, visionaries, mediums and monastic figure of her time... of course (could it be any diffrent *sigh*) she was also a nun and chaste virgin, never ever having any man-meat penetrate her holy orifices...
but guess what, like all those holy virgins in history, she was well taken care of, being actually married, not when she spooked around in a german monastery, but in her other role, as the undoubtedly most powerful woman of her time, the queen of jerusalem ! remember this was after the first initial and successful crusade, before the saracens with saladin took control of the holy city again, and gave the templars, crusaders and all other loons wearing their silly octagon cross, a really hard time... octagon mother-goddess shape versus mohammad´s venus-sickle, whos gonna win ? i dont wanna see no low punches, no unfair tricks, now both of you, enter the ring and fight, 3...2...1... BOX !!
you can even see the same "tichl" and sort of crown worn by both women, even tho the german medieval paintings leave a lot to be desired... in case of doubt, just change the language on the wikipedia article, sometimes better pictures are available in diffrent languages... so this was the true hildegard von bingen...Melisende, Queen of jerusalem...and evrything else is a complete fabrication...

but before we continue, your good uncle mossad-ALF provides a concise list for you to gain an overview over the main ruling houses from the norman conquest all the way until today... this list above is for england, but since they line up with all the other dynasties of their times, we have a great framework to work from...
so after the big migration period, and viking age, we had first the normans, then the plantagenet (a french line, but france and england were always kinda working with each other anyway)...then the lancaster period, the house of york, the tudors (whom we treated already to quite some degree)... then the stuarts, the house of hanover, the windsors, and thats where we presently are....

if thats not enough, heres a list of all the kings of england complete with timeframe...

now the next guy we wanna talk about also had a movie made about him (2009 - Barbarossa), but i decided to not post the trailer since all these movie trailers are pretty much the same... heres a flic about a nice spanish sword maker instead... complete with medieval sephardic music so you can scroll down already...
i havent identified the great muslim general Salah-ud-din yet, who defeated richard lionheart during his ill-fated crusade and later took him captive so that he couldnt return to england for a long time... but one man i have found that was so easy to figure out... french Crusader icon Renaud de Chatillon and holy roman emperor Frederic I, nickname "barbarossa" for his wild red beard... if you have watched the "kingdom of heaven", a ridley scott movie, you know that renaud de chatillon was a wild man who plundered a traders caravan just for kicks, and did all sorts of other crazy stuff.. now both being born within 5 yrs from each other, being of similar fame and repute, i think we have another clear MATCH... remember in world history theres rarely more than 2 or 3 really powerful people alive all at the same time...some people (especially leo´s) are almost impossible to subdue, they have an innate desire and will to rule...and be the center of all attention...

now before i go and check barbarossa against henry II of england... or thomas beckett, or anyone else.. let me first post my other finds made so far...
i have john lackland, the weaker son of eleanore of aquitaine and henry II, being the same guy as...
hugh or hugo X. de lusignan...that was the bro of richard lionheart... now hearing the name lusignan that again reminds me of "kingdom of heaven" where "guy de lusignan" was the other evil crusader, married to "sybilla of jerusalem", played by eva green, whom prince balian of ibelin had a passionate love affair with... so theres already another lead i can follow... but first i need to nail another one...
here again henry II, the father of both, lackland and lionheart... my medieval database is growing only slowly..i need a bigger pool of data , and read myself into the whole scene, before i can make accurate predictions..
i found the husband as usual by the wife-swapping-trick... both were married to the same woman... thats why you probly shouldnt criticize wife-swapping before you have firsthand experience *irony*
as i wrongly titles this picture above, richard III of england is NOT john II of aragon, he lived 50 yrs later, until dieing in the battle of bosworth... but john II of aragon might be richard plantagenet, 3rd duke of york..
about this guy, we´re gonna talk about in the next thread, since i have a little anecdote to tell...(when i was a child we visited a castle nearby in rhineland palatinate, where he roamed about as yet another ill-famed character...so stay alert...)
i have yet another tree chart  handy for you guys...(look above)

the title of this king, richard III, was also "duke of york", a famous medieval bishop´s seat, along with canterbury... who hasnt read the funny "canterbury tales" written by geoffrey chaucer ? chaucer also must merely be another poetry alter of one of these royal men..
both men are pictured as very calm persons, peaceful and quiet... one kneeling down in prayerful duty, the other holding his insignia and looking expressionless for the painter to do his job... he has none of the wild and grim eyebrows that we´ve seen in many of his predecessors... so its safe to say  that richard plantagenet, 3rd duke of york (1411-1460) is also john II of aragon (1398-1479)... as i dig deeper now into the middle ages, things will become clearer...

again the list of british kings... i can post it all day long, since its a png-file with only 15 or so kilobyte in size
now we´re closing the link again to the tudor / luther  clan, since the next king, namely edmund tudor, 1st earl of richmond (1430-1456) was none other than albrecht dürer the elder, meaning father of famous Dürer (the painter), who also was christoph columbus and frederic III, the wise king of saxony...(yes, thats the guy with the gigantic reliquia collection..)... see how small the world actually is... its a nutshell, nothing more.. so we have Dürer the elder, a painter, then the earl of richmond, a british title, but he had other titles as well...look below...
he is so easy to identify due to the exact same hand gesture, on one picture holding a rosary, on the other having his hands folded, kneeling in prayer...the hat is the same too, and the face is unmistakable... back in that time, europe was scattered into tiny parcels, and brandenburg was an electorate... a lower sidegig, along with the main emperor, king of holy roman empire (HRE) of german nations... so the same man was also albrecht III achilles, elector of brandenburg... and if you go through the list of popes on wikipedia, and watch out for the dates of rule (remember a pope is always an older guy, not younger than 50...) you will see again and again the same faces appear... same goes for the list of the grand masters of the templars, or the knights hospitaller... constantly the same people !
and here we are in my tiny home, karlsruhe, baden, pforzheim, stuttgart, strassburg... unlike america, all these cities were already populated longtime in that era, and had monasteries, cathedrals, castles, and what-do-I-know... margret of Baden, wife of Albert III achilles, elector of brandenburg, (and thus wife of edmund tudor) was also margaret beaufort, whose mythological story of being caught up in the rose war in england, being confined in a castle, and under great trials raising her frail son henry VII, is also just a story..... henry VII, as we have established, was luthers father, aka johann cicero, aka erasmus of rotterdam....margaret beaufort is often pictured with this monastic pointed hood...probably pretty trendy at that time, seeing it was the time of roccoco and early baroque, where saintly behavior was encouraged...
