this was a catholic theologian from ingolstadt (bavaria always has been a bastion of catholicism throughout history)...he was one of martin luthers most vehement opponents. just when luther had appeared on his teaching tour, having left the city for his next gig, Johannes Eck would appear, trying to defend the pope (whom luther ripped with all his rethoric provess) pulling people back into the old flow of the diocese and pontifex... what few people know, is that johannes eck and martin luther are again identical....
luther even wrote in a letter to a big city "you hated my teaching, but when johannes eck came along, you cheered him and offered him all the best benefits"...so people had no clue both were the same man... but they were.. and its not hard to see.. again the signature large jaw, the wavy wellset hair, the eyes and intense eyebrows... johannes eck is martin luther...
the whole reformation was pulled off by only a handful of people... in diffrent countries they took on diffrent identities as reformers.... (or their catholic or humanist counterparts)...
but we´re only about halfway through... theres so much more on martin luther...
