the place never really took off. moscow is thousands of miles away. thats 5 days with the transiberian railway that has a stop in town. a long and uneasy travel, even tho russians are known to be ruff ryders. here we can see a soup kitchen and a school where yiddish is taught , but only 2 hours a week and on SUNDAY, what a GOTTESLAESTERUNG. i hope the zentralrat won´t hear about this..
when you watch the documentaries its kindova layd back spot. people there are more like europeans, simple people, small, timid, not comparable to brooklyn, LA or american characters..
yes indeed doesnt seem to be a bustling cosmopolitan city but shure the basics are covered.

half of the year its really cold. so good heating is a must. i guess thers plenty of wood, this part of russias not much populated.
here a guy builds a new single family wood house. it aint no california design with bells n whistles but still meets the needs. u wont have to break the bank for this one. and can raise happy kids.. and summer vacation in china or japan...

the roads look in mint condition. i´ve seen way worse in malawi, africa.. here your windshield wont get any cracks from constant potholes.

here some nice stream to fish for trout or redfish. or probly meet with papa bear. i´ve also seen a jaguar on the flag on wikipedia, that means there must be medium large predator cats there too..

look at this flashy sign of a government building in kyrillic(left) and jiddish(right), thats a mix of hebrew and german, but written in hebrew characters. the only other place u see these are israel, synagogues, and like 4572683746101928472375626373848285925925 holocaust remembrence centers worldwide.
but on second thought... well nice winter hideout. but i´d rather bomb gaza into rubble and make some space there... and i believe the jews will never move here in large numbers unless forced at gunpoint. they´ve always been city dwellers, not so much outdoorsmen and recluses.
